Keep in mind that this list is subjective. We’ve been to a lot of amazing places in the Southeast and it’s hard to choose favorites.

I avoided listing some well-known destinations, such as theme parks, in favor of more educational experiences and incredible places that may be less commonly visited.

The natural hot springs in Hot Springs National Park have drawn people to this region since native peoples first discovered them.

There are lovely beaches, trails to hike, and ranger-led activities to participate in, but the main draw to Assateague is the wildlife.
