Earth Day Headband Activity (Free Printable!)

Make your Earth Day activities even more exciting with this fun and free Earth Day headband printable! It’s perfect to go with any themed Earth Day unit (I’ll link to some things I use below) or as part of a group/summer camp clean up.

Ideas for This Cute Earth Day Crown

It’s a given that it’s perfect for any themed unit (April 22nd), but here are some other times it could be fun to use!

  • As part of a town clean up event to make the kids feel extra special
  • During any personal clean up events
  • To reward eco friendly actions – IE, the kiddo who sorts the recycling each week

Materials Needed To Craft

  • “Earth Hero” template of choice (you can download it for free at the bottom of this article)
  • Crayons
  • Stapler/Tape/Glue – I think staples are the most secure, but use what you have!
  • Thin Poster Board – This is for the band of the crown. Make sure it can bend, do NOT get the foam poster board stuff.
  • Optional – Glitter glue, gem decorations, nature decorations etc to glue around the band and on the template itself.

Steps to Make the Earth Day Headband

If you would like more in depth info about putting this together, my campfire crown tutorial has picture and written instructions!

  1. Print Out Template – If you have thicker paper, it’s always easier and better to work with
  2. Color and Cut – Don’t forget to write the childs name on the blank line!
  3. Attach to Headband – I make my headbands about 22″ to start (adult size/my 8 year old boy’s head size!) and modify from there. Once you cut the headband, staple the Earth Hero graphic to it!
