Rainy days outdoors don’t have to be dreary – as they say, if life gives you lemons, make a lemonade! So in the same fashion, if Mother Nature gives you a rainy day, lets go exploring with a fun rain day scavenger hunt!

Why Do an Outdoor Rainy Day Scavenger Hunt?

While indoor activities can be super fun (who doesn’t love the sound of rain on a rooftop??) it can also be fun to just put on the right clothes and enjoy the rain! By having some specific ideas in mind – my list includes things to find as well as things to do – kids will be super excited to get out and do them!

I know everyone has heard the phrase 100 times, *especially* if you are in the outdoor community, but here it goes “There’s no bad weather, just bad clothes”. And, contrary to popular belief, a decent kids’ rain suit can be under $50!

How to Use the Printable

Simply print out our scavenger hunt list and grab some rain gear before heading outside. Don’t forget your rain boots and umbrella! Work together as a team to find all the items on the list and complete the fun activities. You can even make it a competition between family members or friends.

Sometimes I cut up the “To Do” section and mix up the labels so the kids can pick one at random and do it. I also suggest laminating if possible… if nothing else, put it in a bag.
